PC Gaming Chairs: Ideal For Serious Gamers

There are two kinds of gamers in the world: those who play games and true gamers. True gamers need a lot of custom accessories ranging from the latest gear to PC gaming chairs. While there are plenty of review sites and magazines dedicated to all kinds of hardware and electronics, very few sources exist that even detail the basics of PC gaming chairs. This may or may not have to do with the fact that most hardcore gamers are widely believed to have next to no interest in anything but games and equipment that ties directly to gaming.

Whether or not such a stereotype is justified or not may not be important; it is the stereo speakers that come with most PC gaming chairs that first start to turn heads, often quite literally. One of the features that separates most chairs from PC gaming chairs is the fact that PC gaming chairs tend to have 2.1 (or greater) speakers built into them. 2.1 speaker systems incorporate two speakers and a woofer/sub-woofer unit, and the placement of the speakers is critical to creating an immersive gaming experience. Most PC Gaming chairs feature the two speakers in the headrest, usually incorporated into either side. The bass pounding woofer/sub-woofer unit can be installed virtually anywhere, but the back and undersides of the chair assembly seem to be popular options.

One might be wondering just how a gaming chair receives its audio signals, and that is certainly a question worthy of pondering. After all, one is not planning on running a wire from their PC or gaming console all the way to their chair. Serious gamers, do not respond to that…and do not think about actually doing such a wiring job as it would be a major fashion fiasco. Instead, look at what the manufacturers of most PC gaming chairs include as part of the deal: a wireless sound transmitter that is designed to communicate with an integrated receiver that is usually well hidden within the PC gaming chair itself. It is worth observing that feedback on forums and shopping sites seem to indicate that audiophiles will probably not be pleased with PC gaming chairs.

Most PC gaming chairs cost between $180 and $360, but there are also a few options that will accomplish the same goals for less. There are PC gaming beanbags and PC gaming chairs that lack bases, but most PC gaming chairs are variants of the office chair family. It is also worth noting that many PC gaming chairs seem to offer greater weight tolerances than many low-end office chairs, and perhaps that is due to the stereotypical gamer being thought of as overweight. There are a handful of major brands making and/or selling PC gaming chairs, including: Ace Bayou, Ameriwood, Baseline, Berkline, Coster Furniture, Delta Enterprise, Playsets, Powell Furniture, and Pyramat.
